Goochland County Economic Development received three 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The award was bestowed specifically for the organization’s work in the following categories, Paid Advertising Campaign, Special Purpose Website, and Multimedia Promotion.

These awards highlights Goochland County’s commitment to its community and demonstrates the transformative impact of economic development,” said Nathan Ohle, IEDC President and CEO, “It is with great pride that IEDC presents these awards to Goochland County Economic Development, celebrating their leadership and innovation in the field of economic development."
“We are absolutely thrilled to announce this year's award winners. These exceptional projects showcase remarkable dedication and ingenuity within the field," said Kevin Kramer, Chair of IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards Advisory Committee.
Every year IEDC looks specifically for economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that have demonstrated consistent, exemplary performance in the economic development profession, leading the execution of projects that have a significant impact on their communities, and playing a major role in shaping and improving the practice of economic development.
Specifically, Goochland County Economic Development won the Silver Award for the Explore Goochland paid advertising campaign. The campaign brought awareness to the County’s new tourism initiatives. The campaign received over two million impressions and views and drove more than twenty-five thousand visitors to the Explore Goochland website to increase tourist visitation to Goochland County.
Goochland Economic Development also brought home two Bronze Awards for their multi-media promotion campaign to promote economic development in the County and for the new Explore Goochland website.
