East End Boil Water Advisory
Goochland County East End Public Utilities Customers Advised to Boil Water
Under the guidance of the Virginia Department of Health, Henrico County issued a boil water advisory for users countywide. As Goochland County Public Utilities receives its water supply for eastern Goochland from Henrico, Goochland County is advising that all Goochland County Public Utility customers in the east end of the County boil their water. This includes Aqua Virginia customers living in the James River Estates and Pagebrook subdivisions in eastern Goochland. This does not impact customers in the Courthouse area, which is provided water from a separate source, and those using wells.
On January 8, 2025, the Department of Health issued a boil water advisory for eastern Henrico, in recognition of the interconnected nature of the water system, Henrico officials extended the advisory countywide. This advisory is issued out of an abundance of caution. For more information on the advisory issued by Henrico, view the Henrico Water Update.
Boiling water prior to using for cooking or drinking helps protect against bacteria and harmful contaminants. To properly boil water, water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute. Allow water to cool prior to use. Additional information on boiling water, can be found on Virginia Department of Health’s website.
Goochland customers with questions related to their water service and the boil water advisory should contact the Goochland Department of Public Utilities at (804) 556-5835. Please do not call 911. Additional updates will be posted on the County’s website and social media channels as they become available.
